Copper!

I know it is in the air for some while, but I like it too much for not sharing with you: Copper! 1 This copper Plissélamp from Piet Hein Eek gives a modern interior a beautiful and authentic touch. 2 I came across this beautiful Pill Tube from Minimalux. The classic test tube has been reproduced in copper through the process of electroforming. Supplemented by a cork bung it provides a portable vessel for tablets, pills or your favourite mints. The Pill Tube is mirror polished. It is non-lacquered and will slowly develop an attractive natural patina. (regular polishing will prevent this if the original lustre is preferred). Minimalux is a London based design brand, founded in April 2009. 3 Tessa Kuyvenhoven from Studio Intussen used to work as a freelancer at Studio Haikje. I got to know her as a very creative and spontaneous girl. Ring Windid is one of her designs. To be honest it is made from red gold and not from copper… however it looks stunning and I couldn't leave it out of this collection of copper products. It’s from Tessa's Tactile-Textile collection, this is a series of rings inspired on textile and thread, visible and tangible in the details, made out of precious metal. Each ring is handmade and unique. Available in 14 carat yellow-, white-, or redgold and silver. 4 Who doesn’t want to ride this fabulous bike! This Copper bike comes with a copper chain and a copper bell! So all set to hit the road in a very stylish way! It's from Bart van Heesch, a talented Dutch designer. 5 This side table is a real jewel in your interior! It’s from Philipp Mainzer for E15. 6 At last this Large Conical Vase is also from Minimalux. I really love the clean lines of this vase and the beautiful color it has due the copper.

Fifties nursery

When I saw this cot on the worldwide web, I was immediately inspired to write a blog post about it. I love the fifties feel of it. So I decided to create a little moodboard for a modern nursery with a 50’s touch. Here it is, I hope you’ll like it! 1 Onesie from Dwell Studio. 2 Nootje (means “Nut” in Dutch) from Studio Ditte. 3 Letter sticker from my own collection interior stickers. Perfect to personalize a kids room! 4 Cut paper art from Ruralpearl. I love this artwork, it’s a real eye catcher! 5 Cot Niftyclear from Ubabub. Now your baby can see the world around them and you can keep an eye on them from afar. Nifty Clear combines the clean lines of the mid-century aesthetic with ubabub’s innovative clear acrylic sides. 6 Grey & white checkered play mat from Cottonbaby. 7 Soft little play cushion from the always inspirational Dutch Tas-Ka. The cushion is made of 100% cotton and you can wash it at 40°C in the washing machine. The cushion is nice to cuddle or you can use it as a small pillow. I also love it just as decoration!

Nostalgic Silhouette

A long time wish for me was to have my own collection birth announcement cards. Well since a few months I have! At the beginning of this year Anne Marije van der Kleij from Jut en Jul design asked me to design a collection cards for her company. I knew Anne Marije a little bit as the nice and helpful lady who printed my personal birth announcements for Tein and Fiene. I designed the cards myself and luckily I found Anne Marije to print them. The cards were so beautiful and nicely printed that people even asked me if they were screen printed (actually they were printed digital, but looked really good)! Anyway you can believe that I was very enthousiastic when Anne Marije asked me to design a collection cards for her company. At this point I have several collections at the website of Jut en Jul design, here you can see some photo's from the latest one called 'Nostalgic Silhouette'. Hope you like them! I am very happy to see my long time wish fulfilled and the best part is that there are more collections in the pipeline!

Blue I Love You!

Blue is one of my favourite colours for some years now (probably my love for blue started with the birth of my son…)! I also love the combination of blue with soft grey, I think it makes things look more sophisticated. 1 Love this dress from the Stella Mc Cartney kids collection! 2 'Pearls from Makkum' are beautiful pearls made from ceramic bij Tichelaar Makkum. I believe they are not only jewelry to wear but also make a nice statement as interior jewelry! 3 This little pouch is for your iPhone. The escape route can also be used for you headset. Made of leather that's finished on both sides. From the lovely Dutch brand Frrry. 4 Chair Tip Ton from Vitra defines a whole new chair typology: the solid plastic chair with forward-tilt action (also available in blue ;-)).

Gold!

I really like to watch the Olympics and wish all the athletes a special and sportive event. Today I was very impressed by Marianne Vos who won the women cycling race. Congratulations Marianne! It was great to see you race!

Lovely handmade jewelry

For years now I follow the blog Bloesem from Irene Hoofs. She was one of the first bloggers who blogged about my interior stickers and that’s how I became a loyal reader from Bloesem. Now Irene has designed her own jewelry collection and I am excited to show it to you, so here it is!

Irene made an entire collection for moms, daughters, tweens and their friends, all pieces come in very limited editions, carefully placed in beautiful gift boxes and are handmade by Irene herself. She uses materials that she loves such as pearls, real silver, gold filled beads and some of her favorite gem stones…and last but certainly not least…genuine Italian cotton ribbons from Angela Liquori.
