Black Bathroom

Every day I try to make time to take a long & relaxing bath. I have to admit that half of the time I don’t find the time but when I do I enjoy every second of it. I believe it’s healthy to have a moment for yourself and give your body & mind some rest. Sometimes when I take a bath I pull out the good stuff like candles, music, etcetera. Here are some items that help you enjoy your bath and make your bathroom look prettier. 1 This is Tara, a basin mixer from Dornbracht. Great that it is also in matt black now! 2 Pedal bin from Vipp. 3 A lovely scent candle from Diptyque. 4 Black Soap from Caswell Massey. 5 Black towels from Vipp. 6 Jaime Hayon for Bisazza Bagno.

Black Lace

In my student days I loved to work with Lace (still do by the way :-))! My mother gave me some beautiful pieces of lace back then and I remember that I used them over and over again for several assignments at the academy. I scanned the pattern and used it as photoprint, I made drawings from the lace and created several new patterns from them, I used the lace itself as a stencil and spray-painted the lace pattern on my miniature furniture. I created furniture from the lace itself in miniature by hardening the Lace (like Marcel Wanders later did with his Crochet Table), I made beautiful plastic lace structures and  I also designed some new window decorations from the lace patterns (that was actually the first beginning of my window sticker collection!). As you already know black is one of my favourite "colors" so you understand that I am very happy with this Black Lace collection I show you here! 1 This Prince Chair from HAY was originally designed for a competition setting the task of creating a chair for His Royal Highness the Crown Prince of Denmark. The design is from Louise Campbell. 2 These Doilies are reusable window stickers from my own collection. I like it that you can place them as you like, for instance in a circle, a line or just random all over the window. Also nice is that they are suitable for many different window sizes and shapes. With these Doilies you can solve the problem of viewing in a decorative and beautiful way! 3 How stylish is this Baroque black presentation plate from Wedgwood! The Baroque charger is made of high-quality fine bone china porcelain, can be put in the dishwasher and is available in black, blue, green and red. 4 These little tables are from the Fergana collection from Moroso. Patricia Urquiola designed these candies for your interior, almost everything she designs looks special and gives an interior just something extra. 5 Carpet Dia is from Mohodesign. Available in several colors. Well I hope you like these items just as much as I do. Have a nice day and hope to be back soon :-)!

Black Beauties

Black is my favourite “color”. I believe it is timeless, it combines with (almost) everything and I always wear black clothes (well often I do wear blue jeans, but with a black top on it and everything else that I wear is also black ;-)). When it comes to electronics I always choose for white. I have a white computer, a white cellphone etcetera. But back to the black. I know that too much black isn’t very desirable in a nursery or kids room, a little light for our babies is very welcome. But some beautiful black furniture or toys in combination with soft grey and white can give a very stylish effect! 1 This Swing King is designed by Ineke Hans and is from her collection Black Beauties :-). 2 This Norsu elephant is a money-box. Originally designed back in the 70's by Union Bank these little elephants were given out in order to encourage children to save. They are manufactured in exactly the same way as they were in the 1970's and are still made in the same factory in Finland. 3 I like Bearbricks and especially this black shiny one! 4 This beautiful bus from Playsam's Streamliner car series. This wooden toy is not only nice to play with but also an eye-cather in your cabinet! 5 When Fiene was still a baby I wanted a black onesie for her. After a long search I finally found one and it looked beautiful on her. This one is from N.L.Y. Kids from Nelly. 6 Cot Kili is from the Danish brand Sebra and it looks so sophisticated! The design is modern yet gives you a cosy feeling. Besides black it is also available in several other beautiful colors.

Pink sweetness

A few months ago I gave a small party with the theme Black & Pink. My sweet sister brought me these beautiful Macarons and cupcakes.

Thanks Sis! They were lovely!
