Our home at Decor8!

Our home is featured on Decor8! How cool is that?: our home featured at one of the biggest interior blogs in the world? I am very excited about it! Some time ago the lovely Holly Marder from Avenue Lifestyle came to shoot our home for her Homes With Heart column at Decor8. We had a very fun and productive day. She is such a kind and sweet person! My kids also were photographed and they did a very good job. They did exactly what Holly asked them. I was watching this scene and felt really proud (I am anyway VERY proud of my pumpkins, but it was so cute to see them like this). Here I show you 2 photos from the blogpost, the rest from the photos (including the ones with my kids) you can see at the Decor8 blog of course. I am very happy with the photos and the nice article. So thank you Holly Marder and Holly Becker!

Moodboard

Because I believe that’s important to continue learning and keep developing yourself I’m taking the blog course Blog Boss from Holly Becker. It’s the second course I follow from her and I must say: that lady keeps on inspiring me. Each week we get homework and I (as befits a good student) try to finish that neatly in time :-). Last week the assignment was to show what your dream blog would like. So that gave me some stuff to think about. I like the look that my blog has, so I didn’t want to change very much there. But what I do need and may be handy for myself is a small survey of different categories for the content of my blog. So I created 5 categories & visualized a way to style them (big photos with little icons, small pictures in a collage, 6 photos neatly arranged, a lot of photos in a more playful layout, pictures with color swatches beneath them). The 5 categories are: Haikje's Home: About my personal life - Moodboards/collages: Inspiring products placed together in a moodboard/collage - Pinterest: 3 to 8 photo's from Pinterest which make together a beautiful blogpost - Designers/brands: About inspiring people or brands - Color palettes: Refreshing color palettes.
Above you can see how I visualized them, hope you'll like it!

Mood board for Haikje's blog

As I wrote to you earlier I am taking the Blogging Your Way Boot Camp class from the awesome Holly Becker. Holly is the editor and founder from the world-renowned design & decorating blog Decor8. Two weeks ago I was reading her blog and it made me a very happy girl! So happy that I literally danced around the room… twice! Why? Because she tipped my blog to her readers! See it here for yourself. I feel very honoured, that she recommended Haikje's blog to her readers (thanks again Holly!) and feel proud that this blog guru reads my blog! Well back to class. This week we had to make a mood board about our blog. So as a good student :-) I did and I thought it’s nice to show it here. Hope you like it. Together with the mood board we had to write a little piece about our blog, so this is what I wrote:
Haikje’s blog is my online home where I write about everything that inspires me. I want to share all my beautiful finds and give my readers a little peak in my world as a stylist & mother. I have a great passion for design & decorating, I am crazy about Rik and our two lovely kids and I am the happiest when I create something beautiful. Welcome to my world!

Love blogging!

Good morning dear readers! Hereby I present to you my new logo on my bio photo. I am quite happy with it, however I am still doubting if I shouldn't name this blog "Haikje's Home" instead of "Haikje's Blog". What do you think?
Since yesterday I follow the course Blogging Your Way Bootcamp by the renowned blog guru Holly Becker from Decor8. I got in contact for the first time with Decor8 when Holly posted a blog about my window films. Since I am a huge Decor8 fan and happy to follow BYW Bootcamp! Holly has some very practical & useful tips and it's nice to meet other bloggers in the virtual classroom.
I feel very fortunate to have my own blog and it's inspiring to share some thoughts/inspirations with all of you :-)!
