Blogs I read: Avenue Lifestyle

One of the blogs I read is Avenue Lifestyle from Holly Marder. Holly is a interior design journalist & stylist. Those who visit my blog frequently know that Holly recently did a photoshoot of our home for Decor8 (see it here). Lucky me to work with this styling talent. As a designer/stylist myself it's kind of exciting and a bit scary when somebody is coming to style and photograph your home. Because I have my own style and a very strong opinion on how our home should look. But I already knew Holly and her blog so I tried to stay calm and surrender myself to her and her ideas. The day of the shoot Holly came with her camera and we had a lovely day and I really loved the photos Holly made! She has such a natural and elegant style. You can also see that at her blog, so do have a look over there and get inspired. There is also a very beautiful and extensive report about her wedding, which I love (don't forget to look at the movie from her big day). You can hire Holly also as an interior stylist, so if you have some rooms to decorate than this lady can help you out! Here you see some photos from her bedroom and a tiny sneek peak from her wedding.

Blogs I read: April and May

I kick off this week with another blog that I read. This time it's the blog April and May. Jantine Vaartjes & Vivian Hoebe are the masterminds behind this lovely blog. "A home, a story, a feeling and a smile" is how they subscribe their blog and I fully agree with that. The style at April and May is well chosen and the blog has a cosy feeling and still is very stylish. For the mothers amongst us there is also an April and May Mini blog with all kind of beautiful stuff for kids. And if Jantine & Vivian aren't busy enough there also is a webshop where you can buy lovely items for you home. Next to their own designs and selected new products you can also buy secondhand products. I end this post with a final personal note: considering that my children are born in April and May (seriously), you can imagine that this blog name is very appealing to me ;-).

Blogs I read: Roost

It’s time again to share another blog with you. Today I present to you: Roost. Roost is the beautiful & authentic blog from Caitlin. At her blog you will find a sampling of recipes, descriptive musings and personal chronicles. She lives in Alabama where she dreams of starting a bio-dynamic, organic farm. Three years ago Caitlin and her husband embarked on a radical journey to eliminate all sugar and processed foods from their diet to further heal her husband’s Crohn’s disease. Now he is medicine free and thriving. At Roost she wishes to encourage others to eat clean, seasonal foods that not only taste good but are healing to the body. I like this ideology and what I even love more is the way Caitlin styles her food! You get hungry immediately and everything looks so gorgeous! If you have some spare time then hop on over to her blog and see all the deliciousness that she makes.

Blogs I read: Griottes

Welcome to my new column: Blogs I read. I thought it’s nice to show you which blogs I follow. The first blog I want to show you is the blog Griottes palette culinaire. Actually this blog is more a blog I “look at” rather than that I read it, because it’s in French. It’s from Emilie, a 26 year old artistic director in real life. On the blog you can find recipes, photos (food, nature) and DIY tutorials. I love her blog. Not only she makes beautiful photos, she also has an unique style with her added graphics. So please go over there and have a look yourself. Hope you will like it!
