Cartoon design
With these products you can create your own cartoon at your home :-)! 1 Lamp Beautiful Bulb by Annebet Phillips. This lamp is from a series of lampshades that celebrate the beauty of the light bulb. Funny thing is that the lastname of the designer is “Phillips” which also is the name of a Dutch company which made a lot of light bulbs! 2 Annebet also designed My couch, my canvas. The couch has no loose cushions. The cushions are integrated in the shape of the couch. 3 What an eye catcher this wardrobe would be in a nursery or bedroom! This Wardrobe is from The Trip Cartoon collection from Seletti. The design is from Selab. 4 Established & Sons is one of my favourite brands. They have an original and beautiful collection. Did you know that this British design brand is co-founded by Alasdhair Willis, Stella McCartney's husband? In 2010 he resigned from his position as co-founder and chief executive, but fortunately the brand is still existing nowadays. This Low cabinet is from their Principal collection. 5 Tavolino Coffee table, also from The Trip Cartoon collection from Seletti.

New hotel in Amsterdam
Amsterdam is a beautiful hotel richer. The new Andaz Amsterdam Prinsengracht hotel has opened its doors. Set on the Prinsengracht (Prince’s Canal), this 122-room hotel is surrounded by the unique cultural scene and spirit of the lively Jordaan district and adjacent “Nine Streets”. The atmosphere & design from the hotel reflects a modern view of Dutch history and local culture. The responsible designer is the Dutch Marcel Wanders. In overall I love his designs and even more I admire his entrepreneurial spirit. I didn’t visit the hotel in person yet, but when I am in Amsterdam I hope to see it in “real life” soon!

Ferm Living Spring/Summer 2013
The products from Ferm Living always make me happy. For example I have a thing (like many of us) with the simple graphic "house" shape, and what do I see in their new Spring/Summer 2013 collection? This lovely House shelving system! Also their other products are characterized by good shapes & sophisticated color use. So do have a look at their website for more loveliness.

Silver
Silver it is! Well to be honest not particularly a hot trend at the moment, but I like it. I don’t wear a lot of jewelry, but the few rings I have are silver. When I was younger I thought that when I was “big” I was going to like gold more over silver (for some reason I thought silver was for the youth and gold for the grown ups :-)). But this change of taste never happened, I still prefer silver. Also love a good silver(look) object in an interior. 1 This silver Miffy money box is actually my favorite baby shower gift to give. I also sell it very well at my webshop Designshoppen, so you can say it’s a popular gift here in The Netherlands. I see it as a little Dutch design item that everybody must have in their nursery. 2 This Flos lamp is designed by Philippe Starck. When I was creating this blogpost it occurred to me that Mr. Starck has a preference for silver too, as he designed several products in this shiny “color”! 3 The bow is a lamp called Surprise Surprise and what do I need to say more about it? It’s a real eye catcher from Artecnica. 4 This Kong chair is also from Philippe Starck and is not really new, but I think is still going strong. Emeco is the brand that sells the chairs, they also have brushed versions. 5 Piet Hein Eek designed this silver plated jug. It has a sturdy look and also this one would be a real eye catcher in the dining room.
